More Than a Tournament. A FUTSAL State Cup.

The goal of the Michigan Futsal State Cup is simple: create a competition where teams can play meaningful futsal against opponents at the appropriate level while establishing a legitimate championship stage for the best teams in Michigan. Depending on registration and competitive balance within each age group, teams may be placed into as many as three competition levels:

Championship Division

The highest level of competition. Championship Division winners are officially recognized as Michigan Futsal State Champions and receive the Michigan Futsal State Cup championship trophy and winner medals.

Silver Division

A competitive second division designed to create meaningful games between appropriately matched teams. Silver Division winners are recognized as Silver Division Champions and receive winner medals.

Bronze Division

Where registration allows, a Bronze Division provides an additional competitive level and creates better-balanced matches across the event. Bronze Division winners are recognized as Bronze Division Champions and receive winner medals.

All division winners and runners-up receive medals.

Only Championship Division winners receive the State Cup trophy and the title of Michigan Futsal State Champion.

The United Futsal Pathway

The Michigan Futsal State Cup is connected to United Futsal, one of the leading futsal organizations in the world.

United Futsal has built a global competition and development platform reaching players and clubs across more than 30 countries and reports more than 150,000 athletes participating through its programs and events. Its platform includes the World Futsal Championships in the United States, the World Futsal Cup in Spain, international player development opportunities and regional competition across the country.

For Michigan players and clubs, the relationship helps connect competition here at home with a much larger futsal pathway.

NO MORE RANDOM PKs! - Introducing Golden Minute

There are no ties and no penalty-kick shootouts at the Michigan Futsal State Cup. If a match is tied after regulation, the game moves directly into Golden Minute.

Play begins 5v5. If neither team scores during the first minute, each team removes a player and the match continues 4v4. One player is removed after every additional minute until play reaches 1v1. The first team to score wins.

At 1v1, balls leaving the court are restarted with a dribble-in. All other applicable futsal rules remain in effect.

Golden Minute rewards attacking play, creates unforgettable finishes and makes sure every Michigan Futsal State Cup match produces a winner.
